Senate Minority Leader Senator Derrick T. Simmons appointed by Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann as Chairman of the Senate Municipalities Committee
Senate Minority Leader Senator Derrick T. Simmons, (D), Greenville, on today, was appointed by Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann as Chairman of the Senate Municipalities Committee. The committee is charged with creating and amending legislation that helps cities to prosper and regulate matters of local concern. Senate Minority Leader Simmons has served since 2011 and was previously Chairman of Enrolled Bills. In response to the announcement, Senator Simmons stated on Twitter that, “I am always grateful for new opportunities to serve. I look forward to continuing the great working relationship I have with the Lieutenant Governor as we work to address the needs and interests of our cities and towns.”
